Interview with Mohammed Omer

This interview was recorded at CABBU before Mohammed Omer returned to Gaza and was the subject of physical assault at the Allenby border crossing.

So the Islington Friends of Yibna begins!

Welcome to you all as you come on board. This is a blog and it is probably the easiest form of web presence there is. You can do almost everything with this format that you could do with a web site and it is free. I have taken the liberty of making a start and am happy to assist you all through the teething stage after which you will take control yourself.

The first thing will be to decide who is going to be your administrator for your blog. This is not a difficult or complex task. It will suit someone who is on the internet for a couple of hours a day as a matter of course. The amount of time and energy required is minimal and there is no reason why you cannot have more than one administrator. This is actually very useful because you can share the workload and ensure your blog is always covered despite holidays, illness etc. I am happy to provide a quick training session to whoever wants to be an administrator. This will be quick because there is not a lot to learn and it is very simple.

All of the group can be authors on this blog, which means you can write articles but I would strongly advise that the authors agree a protocol. If this does not happen you can end up with chaos and management difficulties that you just don't need.

You can attract comments from outsiders and you can moderate these comments so that you don't publish any of the flak you are going to receive. You are in fact in full editorial control.

At the moment I hold the administrator position so do not be worried, please experiment with posting articles and posting comments, just have a go, there is nothing you can do that I can't undo if it is a mistake. In fact making mistakes is the best way because then I can guide you all on line.

Best
Jack.

And this is how easy it is to put material up. Now once we start linking it all together, very easy again, then we really start to get our act together.

Human Rights TV works for you to empower the voice seldom heard.

I am sure that after we met the other night there had to be some doubts. I understand that, I understand the question "I thought you said you worked full time?". I believe very strongly that you lead by example and that you are only as good as your deeds, the words just being an echo of intent.

I have taken the liberty of just getting on with it, that is my way, and I have set you up a blog, made your logo and am going to show you all what is just the tear drop on the tip of the ice berg.

This video is one of the moments of inspiration that led to the creation of Human Rights TV. I did tell you about this moment when we met last Tuesday, 17th June 2008. I hope it resonates with you.
